![]() Interceptor - The Interceptor is a versatile fighter that can be equipped for any engagement with the most weapon slots and specializes in energy efficiency.Medium fighters are versatile all-rounders, with average agility and defenses. Stinger - The Stinger is a device specialist that uses its devices at a level higher than other classes, and includes a third firing point that is temporarily activated after using a device.Vanguard - The Vanguard capitalizes on its extreme agility to exploit flanking maneuvers and overcharge its shields as it flies beyond its normal flight speed.Scout - The Scout can out-range other ship classes while dealing greater damage the farther it is from its target.Light fighters are small, agile ships that have low modifiers to shield, armor and hull. Otherwise, there's no inappropriate content. Each class of ships has a unique playing style, each with access to different types of equipment. But while enemies explode, no blood or gore's shown. There's a large focus on space combat in the game, with potentially dozens of enemies on screen firing missiles, energy weapons, mines, bombs, and other attacks. While there are lots of resources in that area, it's a risk to fly into the war zone and escape without being noticed and attacked by at least one group, if not all three. Speaking of factionalized warfare, the latest update added three new gangs to the crowded space combat: the Coalition, Retaliators, and Zurilla, with the three groups in an open state of war against anyone entering a particular solar system. Additional galaxies have been added, some of which provide easier access to mineral ores, while potentially exposing players to additional hazards from alien creatures as well as new factions. Similarly, enemy ships will possibly drop additional blueprints along with the items left over when they're destroyed in combat, possibly giving players stronger boosts for their ships systems as a reward of dogfighting. The crafting system that was previously included has been fully revamped, allowing players to make the components they need for equipment in their ship as necessary. ![]() With the game's extended early release window, it's gone through a wide number of enhancements to its gameplay, such as new fighter classes and ships that players can pilot into star systems. Players will also have the option of changing gear, skills, and weapons to fit their playstyle, making their journey different than that for other gamers. Completing these tasks will earn you experience and possible loot that can be used to craft new gear for your ship, or upgrade the skills of Adam and his companions, making them more useful in combat. You can choose to accept or dismiss these as you wish – the galaxy is frequently changing, and with the exception of large wrecks, areas will randomly repopulate with new points of interest. As players fly through each solar system, a range of alerts may pop up: it could be a sudden distress call from a freighter, a surprise attack from raiders, or the remains of a space station. From here, the duo take off on a journey to explore space in an open world (or perhaps open galaxy is more appropriate), fending off space pirates, mining resources, and selling scavenged goods at trading posts. Adam and Dax take the opportunity in the ensuing chaos to escape, and take shelter in an abandoned asteroid base. Fortunately, his sentence doesn't last very long, because his captors are quickly attacked by the colonial military. Unfortunately, during a seemingly routine patrol mission, he's captured by a squad of criminals and tossed into the brig with a fellow pilot named Dax. Players take on the role of Adam, a space pilot that's taken a job as a wingman protecting space miners from raiding outlaws and other galactic threats. EVERSPACE 2 is an upcoming space action role-playing game for Windows PCs.
